Academic experience

I have been fortunate to have created a “parallel” career in the academic world. In my experience, theory & practice are sides of the same coin. By keeping the channels open for these two worlds, I have been updated continuously with new developments in the business environment, and in society in general. 

My background:

  • PhD candidate: finished thesis to be presented at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid in January 2016.
  • MA in Communications – Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2009)
  • Executive MBA (Marketing) – Pontificia Universidad Católica (Rio de Janeiro) – 1994
  • BA in Communications (Adversing) – Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – 1987

I also have several participations in executive and academic symposia, seminars, and courses, such as the Management Research in a Global and Changing Environment SymposiumHarvard University (2010), and Integrated Marketing Communications StrategyKellogg Management School (2005).

But the best part is probable my experience as lecturer from 2010-2015 for business schools. In Spain at ESIC Business & Marketing School in the subjects of online reputation management and digital strategy.  In Brazil at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing, I imparted classes on corporate communications and branding. I also was honoured to be a guest lecturer for undergraduate courses at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (crisis management) and Universidad de Murcia (reputation management).

Finally, I was invited to give classes and lead training sessions for in-house educational programs for companies such as Philips, Airbus, Repsol, and Lafarge, and I have been a regular guest speakers in executive conferences in Spain and Brazil.
